Your seasonal and food allergies are directly related to the quality of detoxification process in your body.
Our body is made to detoxify. Today we are dealing with additional work load of environmental pollutants and food chemicals.
The results of over worked detoxification organs are sluggish metabolism, spotty dry skin, brain fog, bloating, diarrhea or constipation, constant congestion or runny nose, menstrual disorder, fatigue, insomnia, headaches.
What is the solution?
Traditional fasting stimulates toxins for removal but not enough to complete liver phase 1 and 2 detoxification process.
It requires certain enzymes, vital nutrition, and functioning intestinal flora.
Basic rules of detox:
- Avoid as many toxins as possible: pharmaceuticals (consult your provider), pesticides, food additives, household chemicals and some cosmetics
-Remove/reduce inflammatory foods such as casein/dairy, gluten/wheat, additives, sugars, alcohol, and trans-fats.
-Include foods to protect against the activated toxins of phase 1 liver detox: high antioxidants foods such as green leafy vegetables, berries. Take antioxidant supplements.
- Include foods for phase 2 liver detox such as fiber, probiotics, sulfur contained vegetables broccoli, cabbage, fish and eggs. Take amino acids cysteine, methionine, taurine and selenium.
-Drink healthy fluids: purified water, diluted fruit juices, fresh prepared vegetable juices, herbal teas.
- Have a mini-fast once a week from 5PM till 7AM. Still drink water. It will allow liver to catch up with detoxification process.
-Improve lymphatic flow through exercise, massage, acupuncture, yoga, chi-gong.
- Reduce stress hormones with rest and sleep. Cortisol is a stress hormone which increases toxic load and slows down metabolism.
